Blog Break...

So, I feel like I've been on a blog break or something... Sorry to all our loyal viewers! Here we are again. The weather has turned really nice so we went on a family bike ride this evening. Packed a picnic and rode to the park. Reese fed the ducks and Carsten enjoyed watching them quack away... This was Carsten's first bike trailer ride and he seemed to enjoy it. He leaned on Reese most of the trip. At one point he was sucking/chewing on Reese's arm and I was riding next to them telling Carsten to stop chewing on Reese. Reese said, "It's okay mommy". We ended up at our little park until it got to cold.

I love the visual of Carsten sucking/chewing/teething on Reese. How sweet of Reese to not mind.

So fun! Wish we could join you! I would let Carsten chew on me too. Fun to talk to you the other day.

Great pics! Looks like a fun bike ride. I have been using our stroller more the last few days. It converts to a bike trailer, and I imagine we'll be using that lots this summer.

How fun! That is super that you do that with them. We love to go out everyday, no matter the weather. It is good for them. kristen

I agree with everyone else! The picture of Carsten "eating" his brother is too cute. It must be a sign of affection...and Reese was so cute not to mind. Your adventure makes me want to take our family on one!

Hi there! I am a friend of Amy & Kate's (our husbands all grew up in the same area). I love your blog and more importantly your pictures!! You take the most amazing pics of your kids and I would love to know what photo editing program you use.

I am looking forward to hearing more about the g diapers.

Hi Shelly,
Thanks for the compliment! I love to take pictures. I use Adobe Photoshop to edit my pictures, but most of the ones on the blog I don't do much to... My brother was amazing and gave me a great camera so it does most the work! :)

How do you take the photos of just the child(ren) and the black background? Are you actually taking the photo against a black backdrop, is it an editing trick or a feature of the great camera? What kind of camera is it?

As you can see from the photos on my blog (link from Amy's or Kate's), I'm not too savvy or adventuresome with the camera yet, but I aspire to take better pictures.

Thanks for the tips

Shelly,
So, I do use black velvet as a backdrop... it absorbs the light and you get a great black background. I have a Canon 10D digital SLR camera. My brother gave it to me! I love it. I like to get up close to the kids, have pretty clear backgrounds (not too much going on in the picture), and catch them doing cute things... good luck taking pictures!
