We celebrated Carsten's 6th birthday today with a carnival (his request). He also requested chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting, strawberry lemonade, and popcorn. Following are lots of pictures! (thanks to Larry M. for some of the pics.)

looks like someone's been scouring pinterest for ideas. LOVE the chalkboard! Can you draw like that? I am green with envy. I see it in my head perfectly - but there is a problem getting my hands to produce it.

I actually haven't joined up with pinterest yet (gasp!), but I did scour the internet/blogs for ideas. I was pretty excited that I had most of the stuff and only had to buy a few things (napkins, balloons, etc.). We had a fall carnival at our house and so we already had the bean bag toss deal, and some ideas from that.
The chalkboard was another idea from a blog--a picture of the chalkboard they had at their carnival... I just held it in one hand and drew with the other. I have to see it to draw it, can't just freehand out of my head...
